01 Fulfilling your lifestyle aspirations
Aldgate is a fantastic location if you like shopping, as the two adjacent streets Wentworth and Middlesex are home to world famous fashion and clothing stalls. Petticoat Lane Market may only be open on a Sunday, but you can find almost anything there, so it’s well worth making a special trip.
Another renowned market in the area is London’s oldest, Spitalfields, offering art, interiors, cutting edge fashion and also a wide range of foods.
There are a number of galleries in the area, including one of the finest in East London – Whitechapel Art Gallery. For over a century it has premiered world-class and contemporary artists such as Pablo Picasso, Mark Rothko, Sophie Calle and Thomas Struth. StolenSpace is a gallery packed with urban art from artists with a background in street and graffiti art. The Hoop and Grapes in Aldgate was one of the few timber-framed buildings to survive The Great Fire of London in 1666. This traditional pub serves a range of real ales and delicious pub food.
